Spooner Island , Sewage Lagoon - Birding

Okay, so the following are the creatures we see when we go birding down below where we live;

Turkey Vulture flying over

Turkey Vulture close enough to get a head shot.

how do you feel about this guy passing over your head

Turkey Vulture, was about 20 ft above me

Common Grackle

some say they are a pest, but you can't say they aren't pretty

Yellow Warbler

I love warblers, they bring colour to the woods with their song and mating colours

Eastern King Bird

They are often seen at the tops of trees feeding on flies

They are territorial 

Mallards. the park duck....believe this is nest site

Defending his woman...love the orange feet

American Wigeon Drake (male) love the water droplets

His Green head is only seen when light shines on it right

, most times it just looks black

again the water dripping off the beak

funny , females nesting, boys getting together...

such a beautiful duck

Muskrat - looks cute without seeing the tail

As I said, when tail present , ugly looks like it's cousin the rat.

Spring flowers add colour to the woods

spring is the time of new life- green , colourful

I like the grass in the water

it looked neat in the sun

Kitt at work day of the flood - Norton

So on Wed, April 16. 2014 we had a flood, it did alot of damage up in Sussex, but I don't have pics of that but Kitt got some of where the water was high in Norton.  She got sent home early because of the high water.
