So during the month of March we were kind of bummed out, not just because it's been a really long winter, but because our male Cardinal seems to have gone missing. The female was still around, but the male was no where to be seen. There has been a couple of hawks and cats about , and our worst fears were that he fell into the claws or talons of one of these species....the cat I would be mad about, the hawk, well sad but not mad cause it's the Cardinals natural predator unlike domestic cats that shouldn't be allowed out of the house, and tend to kill birds without eating them.....yes I think domestic cats are stupid. I love the Bobcat, the Lynx, and the Cougar cause they are our natural cats, that were here before we were.
Anyway , enough about my rant on cats, the male Cardinal seemed to be lost when all of the sudden , on the last day of March, Kitt saw a male Cardinal dancing on a wire....brings whole new meaning to Bird on a Wire....it was doing it's mating dance to the female who was watching it boogy.
Now , we think this well footed red angry bird isn't the same Cardinal we had around for the last year but a new mate for the female. He looks alittle different then the last one, but we are happy, and now share some photo's of the favorite bird that comes to our feeders....(was my mom's favorite bird too.)
